Job Description / Duties

Our ‘New Grad’ intern program is designed to be meaningful work experiences allowing you to gain significant skills, learn and grow in your field of their interest. Join CMHC and help us achieve our 2030 aspiration which is to make housing affordable for everyone in Canada. In this role you'll provide assistance in risk assessment, risk aggregation and related reporting requirements, for the Stress-Testing and ORSA Team. You will also use appropriate tools (including R and /or Python) to perform data extraction, data formatting and data analysis; in support of team initiatives and business needs.

Provide assistance in risk assessment, risk aggregation, and related reporting requirements including presentations.
Collaborate with and provide data and preliminary analysis support to peers.

Ensure data is accurate and valid by conducting quality checks and being attentive to detail.
Collect and analyze data using pre-set tools, methods and formats.

Use data management systems and appropriate tools (including R and/or Python) to access, extract, format, analyze and summarize data for risk reports and presentations.

Provide analysis support in the creation of reports for presenting information in a way that is clear and easily understood by stakeholders.

Assist with the research and analysis on industry standards, best practices and changes to guidelines and regulations that impact the provision of CMHC products, programs and/or services.

Escalate potential recommendations based on report and data findings.

Qualifications / Required Skills

Recent Grad with a University degree in a related discipline such as economics, business administration, mathematics, or science related discipline.

Experience can be acquired through the studies, work experience or volunteer activities.

Good oral and written communication and presentation skills.
Basic proficiency in programming language such as R and/or Python or the willingness and the determination to work towards acquiring the necessary skills during the first 3-6 months.

Good judgment, excellent organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently as well as within a team setting.

Enrollment towards the completion of a financial designation (CPA, CFA, FRM, PRM, ASA) or a graduate degree in a related discipline is considered an asset.

Must self identify as First Nation, Inuit and Métis.
