Job Description / Duties

Reporting to the Regional Relations Manager, the Regional Coordinator is responsible for educating, supporting, and empowering housing professionals to deliver a First Nation housing management standard that is unmatched. Serving as the primary point of contact for regional and sub-regional FNHPA members and First Nation Organizations, this role plays a pivotal role in fostering strong relationships and supporting new and existing members. Strategic relationship management skills and in-depth knowledge of all FNHPA products and services are essential to the success for the Regional Relations Coordinator.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


Regional Coordination and Capacity Building:

  • Develop and execute a regional strategy to recruit and onboard new FNHPA members
  • Serve as the primary liaison for FNHPA members, addressing inquiries, providing guidance, and facilitating access to FNHPA products and services
  • Educate, support, and empower members to enhance capacity and effectiveness in managing First Nation housing
  • Identify and address the needs of members by recommending FNHPA products and services to meet their specific needs


Conferences and Events:

  • Coordinate regional events, workshops, and training sessions to promote FNHPA membership, products, and services
  • Provide support with workshop registration, administrative tasks, and logistics coordination (as needed)
  • Contribute to conference content and provide onsite support (as needed)


Relationship Building and Communication:

  • Engage with regional stakeholder understand their unique needs and priorities
  • Cultivate relationships with First Nation communities, Tribal Councils, political territorial organizations partners, and members
  • Liaise with FNHPA members, Housing Managers, and other First Nations staff, external, consultants, funders, provincial organizations, and stakeholders. etc.


Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay informed of industry trends, regulations, and developments relevant to First Nation housing to provide informed support and guidance to members
  • Collect feedback and insights from members aimed at continuously enhancing FNHPA products and services


Teamwork and Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment of regional initiatives with FNHPA’s overall goals and objectives


General Project Support:

  • Coordinate general project tasks and offer support to the Regional Relations Manager as needed

Qualifications / Required Skills

 

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Perform all tasks in a culturally responsive manner, aligned with FNHPA's vision, mission, and objectives.
  • Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including public and First Nation communities, members, administrative staff and FNHPA members, FN organizations
  • Manage multiple deadlines and interruptions
  • Work effectively and efficiently in a flexible office environment
  • Travel is required, flexibility to work in various locations and schedules is required (as needed)


EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS


Education:

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in marketing, public relations, social work, community development, or a related field
  • 2 years of relevant experience in in First Nation programming (housing, health, social or education)


Knowledge:

  • Strong knowledge of First Nations housing services, challenges, and impact on community health in Northern Manitoba.
  • Computer literacy within a Windows environment, including adeptness in database management, website navigation, and utilization of various social media platforms and education platforms (Absorb, Moodle)
  • Proficiency in project management, data analysis and budget management

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and spoken
  • Excellent organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and changing priorities

  • Strong skills in collaboration and relationship building
  • Commitment to continuous learning
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as with a team
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as with a team


Assets:

  • Hold a FNHP designation and be in good standing.
  • French bilingual or bilingual in other First Nation languages.
