Regional Relations Manager

Darlene is a resident status member of the Eskasoni First Nation (Mi'kmaq), NS where she served and dedicated her career to her community for 38 years in the housing Industry and as the Housing Director. She for the past 18 years also was the Emergency Management.  Coordinator.  She is a certified FNHP gaining the designation in 2020, Certified Indigenous Leadership (Jan. 2023), Professional Studies in Emergency Management: Indigenous Communities , NSCC 2024 and trained in ICS.  She has dedicated her career not only to advocating for her community but for all First Nation communities at the Regional and National capacity.  

 

She has extensive experience in not only housing, but also in Emergency Management, Finance, Capital, Environment and Administration.  She has and continues to volunteer for numerous ongoing community initiatives, especially regarding the youth.  The youth of our community are our future leaders and feel they are the road to the future.  Her passion has been the vision on providing a better quality of life for community members and will continue by assisting and supporting our colleagues in the housing industry.

 

As Regional Relations Manager gives her the opportunity to continue her strong passion in supporting Housing Professionals nationally in providing them the resources and tools needed to support them in their roles in community.
