Keeper of My Home Learning Resource
Keeper of My Home is a free educational resource that helps children and youth learn about caring for their home while building awareness of housing health, safety, and wellness. The program includes classroom-ready content, activity books, videos, and e-learning games for First Nation students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 attending on-reserve schools. It can also be used in a variety of settings, including community programs, youth groups, camps, and at home.
By teaching children and youth about housing from an early age, Keeper of My Home supports practical life skills, pride in the home, and a stronger understanding of how housing connects to overall well-being. It encourages young people to become champions for change by sharing what they learn with their families and communities.
The program is built around four main themes:
- Traditional Teachings of the Community
- First Nation Housing Topics
- Home Maintenance
- Home Safety
