Housing and Wellness

The Housing and Wellness Program is designed to provide information and guidance to First Nations individuals living on reserve or working in a housing capacity. The key areas that are addressed are education, through the provision of educational programs, tools, and resources, and wellness as it relates to the mental well-being of First Nations housing staff, occupants, and youth and the wellness of the home itself.

We’ve assembled and created a number of different resources that aim to address issues for 3 key areas:

Housing Staff

  • Stress and Burnout
  • Bullying
  • Effective Management
  • Substance Abuse
  • Illegal Drug Activity
  • Mental Health/Suicide Prevention
  • Vandalism

Occupant

  • Stress
  • Bullying
  • Substance Abuse
  • Illegal Drug Activity
  • Mental Health/Suicide Prevention
  • Vandalism
  • Emergency Preparedness

The Home

  • Indoor Air Quality
  • Mould
  • Energy Efficiency
  • Fire Safety
  • Chemical Storage

Through the delivery of these resources, we hope to address common issues experienced by First Nations housing staff and tenants, as well as promote optimal health and functioning.
