Keeper of My Home Pilot Classroom Program
The First Nations Housing Professional Association (FNHPA) is looking for Grade K-12 educators in First Nation schools across Canada to pilot their Keeper of My Home resources. FNHPA will gather feedback about the effectiveness and quality of the resources through the delivery and collection of pre- and post-pilot surveys and by hosting educator consultation sessions. This project is intended to be completed online throughout the 2023–2024 school year.
Keeper of My Home is a collection of free resources designed for the classroom that teaches learners about caring for their home and housing health and safety. These resources are aligned with provincial and territorial curricula across Canada, as well as Indigenous cultural teachings. They include videos, slides, worksheets, and online learning games. Each grade focuses on four themes: traditional teaching of the community, First Nation housing topics, home maintenance, and home safety.
