Housing Governance & Leadership Workshop | Winnipeg

December 2 - 3, 2025

Join us in this workshop which explores governance and leadership practices with respect to delivery and management of First Nation housing. The workshop is designed for Chief and Council, members of the Housing Authority or Housing Committee and housing staff. Key elements of the workshop include:

• Understanding authority, responsibilities and accountability as relates to housing.
• Examining how housing responsibilities can be shared between the governing body (Chief and Council/Housing Authority or Housing Committee) and the administration.
• Advice on how housing providers can support informed decision-making on housing issues.
• Suggestions on how a First Nation can support/enhance housing governance practices.

In order to increase participants knowledge, skills and ability to support governance and leadership as it relates to housing, presentations, case studies and large group exercises will be used. This workshop is supported by the FNHPA Housing Governance and Leadership Guide, which will be used during the workshop.
