Job Description / Duties


• Coordinates the day-to-day tenant relations and associated activities for the Penticton Indian
Band Housing Programs and ensures they are aligned with the Penticton Indian Band Policies and
values;

• Act as a liaison between Tenants, external stakeholders, or other community resources when
requested;
• Liaise with other Penticton Indian Band Departments in carrying out duties and functions for
authorized work to be done on the units that may be formed from time to time;
• Keep proper records of each tenant and provide information to the Penticton Indian band housing
manager on a monthly basis;
• Encourage tenants to participate in community activities at meetings and information sessions;
• Respond to all Penticton Indian band members and all perspective applicants by referring them to
the appropriate Penticton Indian band department and or authority;
• Assist with tenant selection and the eviction process;
• Inform tenants of new or changes to any policies and responsibilities;
• Maintain the communication of the Penticton Indian band housing newsletter published monthly;

Qualifications / Required Skills

Minimum Grade 12
First Nation Housing Professional designation

The Tenant Relations Coordinator reports to the Housing Manager and is responsible for maintaining
effective relationships between tenants and the PIB Housing Department. The Tenant Relations Coordinator is also responsible for administrative and clerical services in order to ensure
effective, efficient and accurate financial and administrative operations. The Tenant Relations
Coordinator must also be understanding of, and sensitive to, the needs and circumstances of
tenants while at the same time ensuring that PIB Housing policies and procedures are maintained as
well as making sure the tenants comply with the terms and condition
his position also provides
oversight/guidance to the Housing Assistant.
