Job Description / Duties

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Educational Program Coordination and Support:
• Assist in the organization and implementation of educational programs, including scheduling classes, workshops, and seminars
• Maintain student records and databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality
• Support the Education team with coordinating logistics for exam registrations, training sessions and events
• Ensure all training agreements are signed and formalized, escalating to the Education Manager as needed
• Assist in collecting feedback from students and stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and events
• Remain informed on best practices in education, training and event management and recommend improvements to enhance the quality and effectiveness of FNHPA training programs and events
Communications:
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, external vendors, students, and speakers to ensure clear expectations and smooth execution of training and events
• Assist in developing communications to support the exam process, ensuring students have all necessary information and materials
Administrative Support:
• Provide general administrative support, including answering phones, responding to emails, and filing documents
• Support the Education Manager and the team by preparing briefing notes to support the Prior Learning and Assessment Recognition (PLAR) process
• Assist the department with travel arrangements in collaboration with the Executive Administrative Coordinator
• Process orders for materials and equipment for the department in collaboration with the Executive Administrative Coordinator and approval of the Education Manager (as needed)

• Perform all tasks in a culturally responsive manner, aligned with FNHPA's vision, mission, and objectives.
• Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including public and First Nation communities, Chief and Council members, administrative staff and FNHPA members
• Manage multiple deadlines and interruptions
• Work effectively and efficiently in a flexible office environment
• Possibility of occasional travel, requiring flexibility to work in various locations and schedules as necessary

Qualifications / Required Skills

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Education:
• Technical degree specialized in business administration, marketing, communications, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
Experience:
• 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience in administration
Knowledge:
• Computer literacy within a Windows environment
Skills and Abilities:
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Creativity
• Excellent organizational and prioritization
• Strong judgment and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to adapt to a changing environment
Assets:
• Experience with nonprofit and First Nations organizations
• Hold an FNHP designation and be in good standing
• French bilingual or bilingual in other First Nation languages
