Job Description / Duties
Reporting to the Corporate Manager, the IT Coordinator is responsible for analyzing, testing, and assessing systems requirements, developing and implementing information systems development plans, policies, and procedures, and providing expert advice on a wide range of information systems issues. The IT Lead Coordinator ensures that FNHPA's IT infrastructure supports its operational needs and strategic goals effectively and efficiently.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Systems Analysis and Assessment:
- Analyze the IT needs and requirements of the organization
- Conduct testing and evaluation of current and potential IT systems to ensure optimal performance and security
- In collaboration with the Executive Administration Coordinator, identify and troubleshoot issues in existing systems and recommend appropriate solutions
Development and Implementation:
- Develop comprehensive information systems development plans aligned with the organization's goals
- Implement new systems and applications, ensuring they are integrated seamlessly into existing infrastructure
- In collaboration with the Executive Administration Coordinator, establish and enforce policies and procedures for IT system usage, maintenance, and security
Policy and Procedure Development:
- Develop and update IT policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices
- Ensure all IT policies and procedures are documented, communicated, and adhered to by all staff members
- Regularly review and update policies to reflect technological advancements and changes in regulatory requirements
Advisory and Support Services:
- Provide expert advice on a wide range of information systems issues, including hardware, software, network, and security
- Support end-users by addressing their technical concerns and providing training and guidance
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their IT needs and provide solutions that enhance productivity and efficiency
Project Management:
- Lead and coordinate IT projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
- Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, and manage project resources effectively
- Monitor project progress, address issues, and communicate status updates to stakeholders
Security and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect the organization’s IT assets and data
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions
Relationship Building and Communication:
- Manage relationships with IT vendors and service providers.
- Negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, and ensure the organization receives value for money.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and vendors that align with the organization’s needs and budget.
General Project Support:
- Coordinate general project tasks and offer support to the Housing and Wellness Manager as needed
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Perform all tasks in a culturally responsive manner, aligned with FNHPA's vision, mission, and objectives
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including public and First Nation communities, their administrative staff and FNHPA members
- Manage multiple deadlines and interruptions
- Work effectively and efficiently in a flexible office environment
- Possibility of occasional travel, requiring flexibility to work in various locations and schedules as necessary
Qualifications / Required Skills
Education:
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- 2 years of relevant experience in IT coordination, systems analysis, or a similar role
Knowledge:
- Knowledge of First Nations housing services, challenges, and impact on community
- Proficiency in developing and implementing IT policies and procedures
- Proficiency in project management, data analysis and budget management
Skills and Abilities:
- Familiarity with IT security practices and compliance requirements
- Ability to provide expert advice and support on a wide range of IT issues
- Empathy, cultural sensitivity, and a commitment to social justice
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, written and spoken
- Excellent organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and changing priorities
- Ability to complete deliverables of excellent quality while respecting agreed upon deadlines
- Strong skills in collaboration and relationship building
- Commitment to continuous learning
- Ability to work autonomously as well as with a team
Assets:
- Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, Security+, PMP)
- Hold a FNHP designation and be in good standing
- French bilingual or bilingual in other First Nation languages.

Salary: $60,480- $87,091
