Job Description / Duties
Reporting to the MRP Manager, the MRP Clerk supports the MRP team in the development and implementation of the MRP Program. Aiming for First Nations communities to operate their independent MRP Programs, the Clerk assists the MRP team in delivering MRP education and awareness activities to Housing Program staff in First Nations communities. The Clerk also collaborates with the MRP Program Coordinator to ensure program requirements are met effectively and timely. Additionally, the MRP Clerk establishes effective working relationships with other MRP Program stakeholders, including FNHPA staff, MRP Regional Consultants, and First Nations community housing programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Administrative and Reporting Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to the MRP Manager, MRP Coordinator, and MRP Regional Consultants in a timely and effective manner
- Receive and direct related inquiries, including mail, email, courier, and telephone, in a timely manner
- Attend MRP Program Committee meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, log action items, and follow up as required
- Assist with preparing MRP Program communication information and materials for dissemination by the FNHPA Communications team
- Help prepare tools for implementing MRP programs in First Nations communities
- Create templates for MRP Program use in First Nations communities
- Create and maintain a database for preparing reports related to MRP Program activities and evaluation
- Develop and maintain a user-friendly MRP Program records management system
- Prepare letters and reports
Logistics Management:
- Assist the MRP Coordinator in planning and scheduling meetings, events, and training activities, including logistics
- Make travel arrangements for the MRP Program team as necessary
Training Design:
- Assist with the preparation of MRP Program training for staff and MRP Regional Consultants as necessary
- Provide recommendations for improvement
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Perform all tasks in a culturally responsive manner, aligned with FNHPA's vision, mission, and objectives
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including public and First Nation communities, their administrative staff and FNHPA members
- Manage multiple deadlines and interruptions
- Work effectively and efficiently in a flexible office environment
- Possibility of occasional travel, requiring flexibility to work in various locations and schedules as necessary
Qualifications / Required Skills
Education:
- Technical degree specialized in business administration, communications, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
Experience:
- 1 to 3 years of relevant work experience in administration
Knowledge:
- Computer literacy within a Windows environment; especially proficiency in MS Office
- Good writing and redaction skills
- Strong knowledge of office equipment

Assets:
- Hold an FNHP designation and be in good standing
- French bilingual or bilingual in other First Nation languages
